The first day tour was on Lake Gutulisjöen, a lake of about 5 km across, at the end of an sand road.
By the time we embarked our canoes, dark clouds were showing up.
At first we explored the influx of the lake. A little bit upstream, by foot, we found lots of traces left by beavers living in these surroundings.
Of course we couldn't avoid of getting a bit wet, but I'm sure you have already got that impression from the previous picture.
At the other side of the lake was "Gutulia", a small museum farm. Here you can have a drink and eat crispy waffles with jam and whipped cream.
The sun was coming through again. From here we made a small walk to some of the 150-200 year old trees of the reservate.

Isteren. The start of our four day trip on the northern part of the lake. We left our cars near Åsli, via the Sømåa delta we paddled to the lake.
The lake has some fine sandy beaches. In the back of the camp lies a hill, from where you can have a nice view over Lake Isteren in the west and Lake Femund in the east.
And of course worth to mentioning: "the sun". Shining so powerful that even the butter melted.
