The border of the river in the evening sun at the campsite of Lenora.
The second obstacle of the day, two trees blocking our passage on the river.
Šumava national park. Here the river winds in short curves through the wood.
We lost every sense of direction, except for going with the stream.
First stage down stream of Lipno-2. Because this was our first trip on this type of streaming water with only one adult in the canoe, we decided not to navigate passage of the weir. Instead we used the facilities to carry the canoes along.
First sight on Rožmberk. A small town, with a castle build on a rock centred in a curve of the river.
Rožmberk’s campsite. We enjoyed the sun, something to eat and drink and the view on the river.
Well, in this time of the year some artificial heating is expedient.
After some days of practice we felt we had to take the next step, which mend:
We were going to navigate this weir.
Ceský Krumlov. Paddling along the river with some other groups of canoeists has advantages for predicting:
1) How much chance you will have in keeping your canoe straight.
2) The amount of water that will flood into the canoe.
We only took the certainties.
After Ceský Krumlov the river flows over a quite long traject though the woods.
Along the river there are a lot of spots to take care for the fortification of the inner man.
Even in the middle of this traject, away from all roads, you can find someone serving a kind of Tortilla’s. Freshly baked on a wood stove.
