Hippolyte Daeye, 1873-1952
The bathing-wrap
Oil on canvas 112 x 76 cm.
Signed lower right: DAEYE
Painted in 1928
With quick brushstrokes in monocolored planes and with a strong simplifying of the line a composition arises that can withhold with the great artists of Europe. The timid figure of a young girl is nicely and modest portrayed.
